Nick Adams

Nick Adams

Nick Adams is an HCPC registered psychologist and therapist. He holds a BA Psychology and an MSc Forensic Psychology.

Nick has trained in a range of psychological therapies and worked as a therapist in a range of settings with both children and adults. He is an EMDR Consultant and has been providing EMDR therapy since 2001. Nick is trained in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Nick is a member of the British Psychology Society (BPS), HCPC and EMDR UK.  

Nick has worked with children, adolescents and adults throughout his career and has been providing therapeutic services to families since 1999. He worked at Keys Attachment Centre for children with Reactive Attachment Disorder where he provided therapeutic services to children and families.

Nick is often recommended by family law solicitors to families going through divorce and separation. He helps children and their parents work through this difficult time. Previously Nick also provided expert witness services in personal injury cases.

His clinical experience includes working with a range of psychological difficulties from severe depression and trauma to phobias. Nick draws extensively on his psychological and forensic background, whilst utilizing established therapeutic approaches.

Building on all his experience in the field and in depth research of clinical and scientific research, Nick has developed Emotional Response Therapy (ERT), a simple therapy to help overcome psychological distress. 

Nick has developed and delivered training and workshops throughout the country. He is an experienced EMDR training facilitator and delivers regular ERT training to other professionals.

When not working Nick likes to push his own limits and will often be found hanging out (literally) rock climbing down at the climbing wall or whizzing down hills on his mountain bike. The more adventurous or dangerous the more enjoyable it is.
